Microsoft released its PHR platform in 2008 as part of its wider healthcare strategy, which includes Amalga for hospital data warehousing. The platform allows end-users to store any clinically relevant data, but does not include a PHR user interface. Instead, Microsoft has encouraged third parties to build solutions on top of this and the list of healthcare providers and device makers is more comprehensive than that of adopters of the Google Health platform.
