# NHS login 

## Using NHS login to access PKB directly in Wales

Patients in Wales over 16 can both register and log in to PKB using their **NHS login **if their record has been created. This is currently only available to users on a regional basis where the region has been authorised to use NHS login with PKB by** **Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW).  

### Creating an NHS login

If you **do not have an existing NHS login,** you will be prompted to create one after entering your email from the NHS login sign-in page. NHS Digital have published a video and step-by-step guide on how patients can do this [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FFjGUW6s7E&t=14s)

## Proxy access in NHS Wales App

Proxy access allows someone else, usually a trusted family member, close friend or carer, can book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, or view their GP health record on a patient’s behalf.  This is not currently available in the NHS Wales App and you will need to contact your GP practice in person or by telephone. 

The NHS Wales App does not currently support proxy access. This means the ability for a parent, family member or carer to access and manage health and care services for someone else is a part of the future for the NHS Wales App.
